IS Operations Manager/Director - Infrastructure - London/Berkshire
Our world leading food and consumer goods client is seeking to appoint a senior manager. The role offers the opportunity to lead & shape the Global Operations team at utilising a globally dispersed team to drive operational service excellence. Reporting to the IS Director, Production Delivery you will have IS responsibility to:
* Lead and direct the Production Delivery - Operations functions, ensuring that all technology platforms can be successfully deployed and managed in line with business requirements whilst driving transformation across the function
* Support the global core infrastructure (data centres, voice/data networks, global server management, etc) in line with business requirements
* Support a global Wide Area Network of over 200 locations and a global Server estate of over 1,000 devices globally
* Ensure that all services are delivered within the agreed framework, aligned to the needs of the business whilst leveraging Industry best practice
* Take full responsibility for managing 3rd party outsourced vendors and a budget in excess of £15 million.
* Responsible for recruitment, budgets, continued development and career management of your IS team.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong entrepreneurial skills, in terms of innovation and problem solving with strong team working and commitment; they must also have significant experience in managing geographically dispersed, global teams. The candidate must also be a true hybrid manager with excellent and in-depth technical understanding of complex networks, AS400, SAP and wintel environments.
To be considered you will have the following:
* A successful track record of experience within Production / Service Delivery operations, with profit and loss responsibility, preferably gained in a multi cultural, International distributed business
* A successful track record of delivering First class operational Service Delivery in a outsourced / multisource IT environment
* A strong track record of project management and delivery is critical
* Demonstrable experience of creating and maintaining successful 3rd party IS supplier relationships
* Experience in leading a business through a period of significant change with an understanding of the people, systems and other issues that change brings about
* Demonstrable evidence of building, developing and leading teams of high calibre professionals in a fast paced and changing environment using sound project management methodologies and procedures.
Familiarity with or accreditation in the following frameworks:
* ITIL
* Prince 2
* CoBIT
* TOGAF
* SFIA
Significant experience of the following technologies and applications :
* SAP, Siebel, VMWare, WINS, MPLS, TCP\IP, OSPF
* Demonstrable experience of deciding the best technical direction or solution taking into account technical and commercial risk as well as deliverability in required timescales and to available budget.
* A depth of experience in Technical service delivery and/or IT Operations
* Strong ITIL background and awareness
