Towards the tail end of last year I gave you our pick of the top ten people to start following on Twitter. Nearly a whole year has passed and a new wave of SAP Tweeters have taken to the internet, sharing the latest developments, news and SAP-related job opportunities with tech-savvy followers.
As well as the
original ten, here's who we think you should be Tweeping your eyeballs on in 2011:
@yojibee (Anne K Petterøe)
Describing herself as an "enterprise evangelist", Anne K Petterøe has worked as a SAP consultant for the past five years. She's passionate about her involvement in Rich Internet Applications and Flex/Flash tooling and wants you to be too, by keeping you updated with the latest developments from the SAP-Adobe alliance.
@finnern (Mark Finnern)
Mark Finnern is a SAP chief community evangelist and is the go-to-guy for motivational SAP forums. Mark is the founder of the Bay Area Future Salon, which operates under the tagline "boldly creating a future that works for all", his positivity extends to his Tweets, where he's keen to offer advice or enter into a light-hearted technology debate.
@wolf_gregor (Gregor Wolf)
Gregor Wolf, enterprise architect at Siteco Beleuchtungstechnik GmbH and owner of his own Computerservice Wolf organisation, holds a formidable talent for programming. Through his Tweets you can read reviews about the latest SAP solutions, while flicking through the German's regular photo updates.
@dparnas (Dagfinn Parnas)
SAP mentor Dagfinn Parnas is at the forefront of SAP events and you can be too by following his regular Tweets. Dagfinn is also a bit of a wiz with mobile apps and social sites and likes to show you how you can use SAP software out of the office too.
@timoelliott (Timo Elliott)
Easily the most prolific Tweeter on our list and such a favourite we had to feature him again, Timo Elliott has a passion for business intelligence (BI) and performance management solutions. As a SAP BusinessObjects veteran his Tweets can guide you through how to solve common BI problems.
@oliver (Oliver Kohl)
Oliver Kohl is another SAP mentor and has over ten years experience as a consultant. Happy to lend an ear to consultancy problems, followers should be aware that he likes to switch between Tweeting in English and German.
@R3Now (Bill Wood)
Bill Wood is the second person to feature in both the 2010 and 2011 and he brings you SAP and Enterprise Resource Planning advice from a customer point of view (Ed – Can anyone point us to another Tweeter like this?). His Tweets regularly link back to his independent R3Now blog for in-depth advice and insights into new products.
@sapymes (Frederic Page)
Spanish trainer Frederic Page is especially keen on sustainability in SAP and will often Tweet about different companies' progress as they aim to become more environmentally friendly. He also has another Twitter account (@CarbonImpact) and a blog for Spanish-speaking followers.
@c821311 (Tony de Thomasis)
Tony de Thomasis is a NetWeaver technician and has been using his Twitter account recently to convey the latest news about the SAP TechEd conference in Las Vegas. He also regularly gives you access to interviews from SAP experts and is a keen believer in the power of the hash tag.
@SAP_Jarret (Jarret Pazahanick)
I sneaked him as one to watch in 2010 and Jarret Pazahanick hasn’t disappointed this year. For those who don’t know him, Jarret is a SAP human capital management specialist and mentor. He has written many books and could easily fill a few chapters with his often hourly Tweets. Jarret has links to the SAP corporate news department and gives followers an insight into company reports and who's implementing SAP software successfully in their business (he also regularly beats me to Tweeting the Red Commerce blogs and news!)
This year I’ve tried to stay away from the SAP Mentors and have a look a little under the radar but they are some of the most active and interesting on Twitter, apart from the ones here and in last year’s post I’d check out @sapmentors - who only follow tweeting SAP Mentors.
Twitter can be a quick and easy way to learn more about the SAP industry and professional opinions on the latest solutions and software. If you follow the right people you could gain access to interesting insights and useful tips on how SAP could work for your business. Who knows, if you start posting your own thoughts you may even end up on this list next year.
Don’t forget you can follow us @redcommercesap and also we’d love to hear your suggestions on who to follow in 2011. Make sure you share this with your fellow SAP Tweeters!
All the best,
Owain
